Jay A. Prange, MBA, CFP®
Jay has a unique combination of strengths and experiences which allow him to translate operational and financial data into information that allows business owners to efficiently manage and grow their business. He holds a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree and a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Industrial engineering is about designing and improving systems to make products or provide services. This focus on improving operations results in improved margins and capacity to grow, which creates an advantage for our clients. With a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University, he also has an understanding of many of the outside forces that work in favor or against an industry or business.
He has attained the status of Certified Financial Planner®. Every closely-held business is closely tied to its owners, which requires the ability to see how factors affecting the business flow through to the owner, including income tax, estate tax, and insurance implications. He has completed the educational requirements and is currently studying to sit for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Exam. Having worked with a local CPA firm, he has experience with budgeting, forecasting, bookkeeping, and individual and corporate tax returns.
Jay has been working with the owners of small businesses for the past 8 years. He has overseen and executed the implementation of entirely new accounting systems, redesigned reporting systems to allow for quick reaction to new market conditions, and assisted in the writing of process and employee manuals. He has developed pricing and estimation models, labor tracking models, cash-flow and budget models, company valuation models, and performed multiple types of break-even analysis. He has been the acting company COO, CFO, or accountant in cases where someone left unexpectedly or a full-time position was not required.
Jay lives with his wife Kelly, daughter Evan, and son William in Alpharetta, Georgia. He loves running, basketball, golf, and hiking.
